Student placements at IBM will help you gain a better understanding of the world of work. You will be given an opportunity to work on projects alongside IBM employees and you'll get an appreciation of a typical working week. We currently offer two types of work placements; Software Development and Design.
Read on to find out what some of our recent students thought of their placements and how you can apply....

Do you have a logical mind? A placement in a software development team will open your eyes to a coding world. You don't need previous experience, just a passion for technology. Note that the majority of software development placements are technical and computer based.

Are you a keen artist with a passion for technology? The Hursley Studio has placements to offer for people like you. You'll learn about the Design Thinking methodology and work with a variety of mentors through your project.
Applications are open in the autumn term and students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Make sure to include the subjects you are studying, why you would like the placement and what you hope to achieve.
You will be contacted via email to confirm whether or not you have secured a placement. Further information will be sent a few weeks prior to your start date.
